Imphal, March 11 2022:
CPI Manipur State Council has categorically stated that as BJP has won the mandate of the people, it should ensure a corruption free governance in this term.
In a release, CPI MSC assistant secretary M Joykumar Luwang said that BJP which used money and muscle power extensively to win the election should ensure that in this term there is no more discontentment amongst the people unlike in the last term.
Moreover, the newly elected 60 MLAs should realise that they are not just the representatives of those who voted in their favour but are also representative of all 28-lakh people of the state and hence, they should make laws that will benefit the whole population of the state, it emphasised.
CPI pointed out that poor farmers are struggling to educate their children and many people are selling their lands and properties to get money for giving bribes to secure employment for their sons and daughters.
The government must plan for creating opportunities of income generation for the unemployed people of the state.
Giving few lakhs in the name of Start-up programme cannot be regarded as a solution to the unemployment problem in the state, it observed.
The party noted that corruption has taken deep root in the Manipuri society as witnessed in the recently concluded election with huge amount of money spent by candidates.
To win absolute majority huge funds have been utilised that came from corporates.
The rights of people have now been sold off to the corporates for five years, it lamented.
CPI expressed it gratitude to the people who voted for the party despite it not using any muscle of money power to win the election.
