Tribal bodies greet MLA designates, supporters

Several tribal bodies have extended congratulations to the newly elected representatives of hill constituencies in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) - ZU (AMN) in a release issued by president Azang Rongmei congratulated Awangbow Newmei (NPF) of Tamei AC, Janghemlung Panmei (NPP) of Tameiigloiig AC and Dinganglung (Dipu) Gangmei (BJP) of Nungba AC on winning the polls.
The release expressed hope that the three elected representatives of the people will commit themselves to work sincerely for the welfare of the downtrodden people of Tamenglong and Noney districts in particular and the people of Manipur in general.
It also urged the people for cooperation and extending full support to the MLAs designate as they continue their journey in the service of the people.
ZU (AMN) also wished them the best in all their future endeavours and prayed to the Almighty God for blessing them in abundance.
On the other hand, Naga People's Front (NPF), Chandel Divisional Unit thanked the Almighty God and voters of Chandel and Tengnoupal assembly constituencies for casting their votes for NPF candidates, even if the party failed to win in both ACs.
A press release issued by NPF Chandel Divisional Unit president Langhu Startson said the party hopes to return with more energy, power and wisdom to learn from past experiences and also thanked the chiefs, womenfolk, youth leaders and CSOs of various communities for rendering support and valuable ideas.
NPF also thanked it functionaries who travelled from Nagaland to extend physical support and also the reverends, pastors and religious leaders for extending support through prayers and worship until the end of election process.
Furthermore, NPF congratulated SS Olish of Chandel AC and Letpao Haokip of Tengnoupal AC on winning the 12th Manipur Legislation Assembly elections and hoped that both candidates will bring peace and development to Chandel and Tengnoupal assembly Constituencies.
Moreover, Lamkang civil organisations such as Lamkang Naga Kver Kunpun (LNKK), Lamkang Naga Snu Lop (LNSL) and Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK) congratulated SS Olish Lamkang for her landslide victory in the elections.
A release jointly signed by presidents of LNKK, LNSL and LKK said that SS Olish has created a landmark in the political history of the Lamkang community and Chandel district on becoming the first lady member of Manipur Legislative Assembly since the state attained statehood in 1972.It also urged the people from all Walks of life to collectively support and give cooperation to her and work closer towards development of Chandel district.
"Chandel district needs special attention towards economic progress, development, infrastructure, employment, education and many more.
Overlong due to have capable, sincere, dedicated and committed political leaders to fulfil those aspirations of the people is now available in the form of SS Olish Lamkang," it said, adding that the people have been blessed with a generous, cooperative and understanding person who will listen to the people, bring development in all spheres and will elevate the district to new heights.
