UCOBID organises awareness programme

Bishnupur, March 11 2022:
United Clubs' Organisation of Bishnupur District (UCOBID) on Friday organised a one-day awareness programme with the theme, "Save society; quit drugs" at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School.
It was attended by Dr Raichandra Singh, CMO Bishnupur; Th Devendra, Principal, Moirang Multipurpose Hr Sec School; W Basanta, President, UCOBID and Ima Thamballeima, president MPAL as presidium members.
Dr L Pishak, Director Child line Bishnupur; Dr Kh Sumati, Councillor, Drugs Treatment Clinic Bishnupur and advocate L Parmeshori also attended the programme as resource persons.
At the event, the resource persons elaborated on the problems caused by drugs, advised drug users on how to stop abusing these addictive substances, support system required to quit drugs and relation between drug users and dangerous diseases.

It may be mentioned that the main goal of the awareness programme was to provide the youth of today who are most susceptible to drugs with the means to manoeuvre through the temptations and pitfalls of drug abuse.
It is also worth noting that youths are the target market of drug peddlers and as such more prone to becoming a victim of drug use.
This could cause both mental and physical damage to them.
As such the awareness programme was organised to deter them from abusing drugs and instead lead them down a path to becoming successful members of the society.
The programme was also attended by students of various schools from Moirang.
