MUSU poll code enforced

The code of conduct for the Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU)-2022 election has been declared and enforced with immediate effect from Friday.
MUSU election monitoring committee convener Rajesh Yumnam told media persons at Manipur University campus on Friday that with the enforcement of the code of conduct, no election related party, feast, picnic, study tour or distribution of any inducement items will be allowed while open debate, symposium and discussion will be conducted from Monday onwards to enable voters to choose the right candidate.
He also appealed to students of the varsity to take part in the programmes without fail.
Rajesh Yumnam also said that no students from outside will be allowed to conduct any activity related with the election and no photo, poster or card can be pasted except one A-3 size photo each at the notice boards of the departments concerned.
He also declared that no election campaign inside the campus will be allowed except between 9am to 4.30 pm and there should not be distribution of cards which could identify candidates or present gift or money for the election.
No addictive substances shall be used in election campaign and any candidate found using drugs in election campaign will be disqualified instantly, he said, adding that voter pick-up, camping and house campaign will not be allowed at all.
