MNPF celebrates 9th Raising Day

The armed Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) reportedly celebrated its 9th Raising Day on Friday at its central, general and battalion headquarters as well as at stations, units and administrative departments.
According to a statement of MNPF issued by its publicity secretary Thomas Numai, the celebration was marked with unfurling of outfit's flag and paying homage to revolutionaries who have laid down their lives during the course of revolutionary struggle.
The main celebration at central headquarters was attended by chairman john Francis Kashung as chief guest and home secretary SP Kanmi as president while defence secretary Ahao and publicity secretary Thomas Numai were guests of honour.
The celebration at GHQ was marked by organising sports competitions and other programmes, the statement said.
Home secretary SP Kanmi, during his speech at the celebration, expressed deep concern over involvement of some underground groups of North East in Indian sponsored elections and maintained that such involvements were a great loss for the people of the region.
He also said that MNPF has been working in the interest of a united Manipur since the very beginning and will continue to work in this same spirit in future too.
Chairman John Francis, in his speech at the event, thanked the almighty God for enabling the outfit to celebrate its 9th Raising Day successfully with the people and conveyed outfit's sincere appreciation to the people of Manipur for supporting the revolutionary struggle.
He then thanked revolutionary groups of the North East for extending cooperation and extended Raising Day wishes.
The chairman further said that MNPF is one of the revolutionary organisations of the North East which could defeat enemy in battles and play the revolutionary role effectively.
He then said that people of Manipur are behind MNPF and the outfit was established with the grace of God and would not do anything against the wishes of the almighty God.
The chairman then conveyed his New Year-2022 wishes to people of Manipur, the statement added.
