Aid extended to accident victims

Imphal, March 11 2022:
Troops of Churachandpur Battalion and Khoupum Battalion of IGAR (S) reportedly extended assistance to road accident victims.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that around 2 pm Thursday, an accident took place at Aina village when driver of a Tata 407 truck lost control and went off the road.
The vehicle was travelling from Churachandpur towards Saungsang.
In the accident, one Thengnu (33) of Maujang village and Huikim (40) of Khoken village got seriously injured and were evacuated to Churachandpur District Hospital by Assam Rifles ambulance.
Other passengers with minor injuries were given first aid in the MI Room of Coy operating base Aina.
The herculean task of recovering the vehicle from the ditch was also done by the troops of Assam Rifles duly supported by the local people.
In another incident, an individual who had sustained severe leg injury in an accident at Lamdangmei area of Noney district was brought to Assam Rifles Coy operating base and rendered emergency medical aid to stabilise his condition by the medical staff.
The victim was subsequently referred to Civil Hospital for further treatment.
The accident victims and the local people expressed gratitude towards the Assam Rifles soldiers, who exemplify the humane face of the security forces, the PRO said.
