Traditional games researcher Dr Nalini feted

Researcher in the field of Manipuri indigenous games, Dr Mangsatabam Nalini Devi was felicitated by the Centre for Social Development (CSD) and Women Action for Development (WAD) on Saturday.
Titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba attended as the chief guest and CSD president Kh Norendro as the president at the function held at Hotel Classic.
All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) president Wangkhemcha Shamjai, social scientist Dhanabir Laishram and Prof Oinam Ibochou were the guests of honour on the occasion.
Leishemba Sanajaoba was concerned about the present state of affairs in Manipur where myriad of demands has been raised by the people.
He felt the need for a future plan for Manipur to be devised by intellectuals and stakeholders.
AMWJU president Wangkhemcha Shamjai was glad that Dr Nalini has explored and rediscovered the indigenous games and activities of the State.
Dhanabir Laishram said that the strangest thing the forefathers have left is the philosophy.
He said no money was spent in traditional games and activities before and that there was a sense of closeness among the players.
