CM assures health insurance for everyone

Chief Minister O Ibobi on Saturday said Manipur Government is planning to provide the benefits of health insurance to its people besides installing a good healthcare system.
He made the statement during the 20th annual conference of Association of Surgeon of India (ASI), Manipur State Chapter held at the Jubilee Hall of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.
Attending the function as Chief Guest, O Ibobi said that there is a plan underway to set up the best healthcare system in the State and provide all the benefits of health insurance to everyone apart from extending monetary aid to the poor.
More infrastructures will be developed at District and Sub-District Level Hospitals and Government will provide treatment to people from far corners of the State using technologies such as Telemedicine.
India has become one of the most important centres of health tourism in the world and at the same time, Manipur also has started contributing in the field of healthcare.
A Plan is underway to provide health benefits to neighbouring country like Myanmar, said O Ibobi.
He said the State should shoulder the responsibility of treating patients from Myanmar and other neighbouring States.
People of these States and countries will also be benefited by such new policies of Manipur Government on healthcare.
