Imphal, October 10 2015 :
Three Naga People's Front (NPF) MLAs, out of the four, who had recently claimed to have resigned from the Manipur Legislative Assembly have withdrawn their monthly salaries and allowances.
It may be recalled that the four NPF MLAs reportedly resigned after protests over the passing of three Bills for protection of indigenous people in the Assembly on August 31 last.
Out of the three MLAs, two had come directly at the Assembly Secretariat and claimed their monthly salaries and allowances.
One MLA sent another person with an authorization letter and claimed his salary and allowances.
However, the fourth NPF MLA has so far not claimed his salary as he was out of station.
Though the four NPF MLAs had already submitted their resignation letters, Assembly Secretariat has not announced its acceptance of the MLAs resignation yet.
Therefore, all the four MLAs of NPF are still MLAs and they have the right to claim their monthly salaries and allowances, said a source.
Meanwhile, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Lokeshwor has notified all the Members of the Legislative Assembly to claim their respective salaries.
It was also reported that MLAs could send a person along with the authorization letter to collect their monthly renumerations.
