Jiribam (Imphal East), October 10 2015 :
The Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) has demanded the authority concerned to take up necessary steps and reconstruct the newly constructed district library before it is opened to the public.
The district library was constructed with the funding of Raja Ram Mohan Roy Foundation, Kolkata.
A MoU consisting of 11 points was signed between the State Government and JDDC.
Construction of a district library was also mentioned among the 11 points.
The overall structure of the constructed library was something JDDC had not expected.
The library does not have the requirements which a well-equipped library should have, said W Dinesh, co-convenor, JDDC.
Besides, the library was inaugurated privately without the knowledge of the public on October 7, stated Dinesh.
He urged the authority concerned to initiate steps to make the library well-equipped at the earliest.
