Speaking at the inaugural function, Ibobi said that problems related to health have serious impacts on the development and prosperity of the country.
Citing examples of the United States' policy on affordable health care facilities, he said that the conference has brought together leading specialists from public and private organizations to share knowledge and skills with a view to providing better healthcare services in the country.
Further, he said that one key objective of the State Government is to ensure long and healthy life for all citizens.
"Increasing the life expectancy of our citizens and en- suring that all people have access to healthcare services is a must", stated Ibobi.
The key outputs are to reduce the mortality rate, reduce the impact and prevalence of HIV and AIDS and other communicable diseases and ensure an effective health care system, he said.
To achieve such outputs, ensuring a well-coordinated healthcare system with special focus on communicable and non-communicable disease is crucial, added the CM.
He applauded the works of various surgeons who have been conducting many advanced and complicated surgeries despite having limited resources and technologies.
The CM assured, "I will do whatever is possible in my capacity to ensure that shortages of infrastructure and technology do not come in the way of providing modern healthcare services to our people" .
He maintained that Manipur has a vision of extending healthcare services even to the neighbouring country like Myanmar.
Later, he urged the medical fraternity, specially the doctors and other leaders of health industry to empathize with the ailing patients and their anxious parties while discharging their valuable services and to keep up the spirit of humanity and kindness which are the true traits of a healer.
Further he said that the State Cabinet in the last Assembly session discussed to enact a Bill and prevent violence against doctors and hospitals meted out by patient parties out of anger when any unfortunate incidents happen.
Meanwhile Prof.Rajendra applauded the works of the Chief Minister in taking up various development works in healthcare sector.
But he urged the CM to provide all the necessary infrastructure and facilities to conduct complicated surgeries.
Prof.Rita said that organizing such a conference is very important as it is a platform for sharing knowledge.
