Combing Ops on, arms recovered

Along with conducting combing operations at differ-ent locations across the state, combined forces have been able to recover arms and am-munition.
Accordingto sources, a com-bined team of Imphal East dis-trict police commandos, Hein-gang police and personnel of 4 AR conducted combing opera-tion at Waiton village in Imphal East from around 10:30 pm Thursday following specific in-formation.
Duringthe operation that continued till 4 am Friday, the combined team recovered three SLRs and two magazines, two AK -47 rifles, two .303 Rifle along with two live rounds, two Carbines with two magazines, one MP 5, one double barrel, five country made pistols and one magazine, two magazines of INSAS LMG, three magazines of IN5A5 rifle, two magazines of LMG, one magazine of SLR LMG, two Bayonet, two unknown live rounds and 12 cases of AK rifle.
A combined team of Kakching district police and BSF led by Kakching SP Shrey Vats also conducted combing operation in different areas of Sugnu under Kakching district at around 9 am Friday.
The ITBP and CRPF are presently guarding Napat vil-lage and security forces have started constructing bunkers and stationing in the area.
Meanwhile, domination of the arterial national highway 37, connecting capital Imphal with Assam and other parts of the country, was carried out to ensure free movement of essential goods to and from Manipur as part of the op-erations.
