Joint Action Committee urges for probe

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed against the brutal killing of Ningthoujam Ramesh and seriously injuring another by unidentified miscreants urged the State Government to book the perpetrators involved in the crime by June 12 .
It may be noted that Ningthoujam Ramesh Singh of Heirok Part 3 Tourangbam Leikai succumbed to his injuries while Ningthoujam Kala sustained injuries when unidentified miscreants open fire on them on June 7 last at Ngarouthel Heirok Part III, Thoubal district under Heirok Police Station.
A public meeting was convened yesterday attended by various clubs of Heirok which strongly denounced the attack on civilians.
JAC convenor Maibam Kenedy said that the JAC has resolved to claim the body of N Ramesh Singh in view of the ongoing unrest in the State however he urged the authorities concerned to probe the incident to find out whether the crime was carried out by Kuki militants or was it a case of contract killing.
He further demanded to book the perpetrators involved by June 12 failing which the JAC will launch intense agitation along with the locals and CSOs.
In this regard, memoranda enlisting the above resolutions will be submitted to the Chief Minister and relevant authorities through Thoubal DC and Thoubal SP, he added.
