One death, 73 new cases reported

Imphal, February 21 2022:
The state on Monday reported 73 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1552 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering positivity rate of 4.70 per cent against 3.95 per cent recorded on Sunday.
Monday also reported one death case and it took the fatality toll to 2101 .
the victim was an unvaccinated resident of Imphal East district.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 184 vaccinated people of which 56 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 82 patients were discharged from home isolation (64), RIMS (2), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (8), The active case came down to 649 out of which 311 (47.92 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 264 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 112 in RIMS.
Out of the 16 districts, nine did not report any fresh Covid cases on Monday.
So far, the state has recorded 10718 positive cases and 99 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 3250 new positive cases and 55 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 576 and 17 respectively.
According to official reports, the 73 fresh cases included 72 people (37 male & 35 female) from among the general population and one Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) jawan, whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (11), JNIMS (10) and other testing centres (52).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (24), Imphal West (25), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (7), Kangpokpi (1), UkhruI (6) and Chandel (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,506.Number of recovered cases is 1,33,756 (general population - 1,28,782 and CAPF personnel - 4,974) and number of active cases is 649 (general population - 628 and CAPF personnel - 21) .
The recovery rate is 97.99 per cent.
A total of 242 D-type and 86 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 1577 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people reached 14,99,164, out of which 11,14,300 had received second doses and 55,659 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48517), Imphal East (30309), Thoubal (10112), Churachandpur (11021), Kangpokpi (3116), Tamenglong (3460), Bishnupur (9783), Senapati (2468), Ukhrul (3243), Kakching (6851), Chandel (2683), Noney (1149), Tengnoupal (1188), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1032) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (700), Imphal East (506), Thoubal (187), Churachandpur (167), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (16), Bishnupur (204), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,992 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,551 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,04,533 tests per million population against the national average of 5,42,110 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity rose to 8.72 per cent.
