Chief Secretary says world class roads for Manipur mooted

Manipur Chief Secretary O Nabakishore on Friday said there is a plan underway to construct world class Ring Road for Imphal and another road connecting Imphal and Tamenglong.
O Nabakishore said this while speaking at a function which felicitated him on becoming the Chief Secretary of the State.
The function was organised by Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organization (AMGEO) at its office, Babupara, Imphal.
Speaking at the function, the Chief Secretary said that he already had a talk about the road projects with a team from Asian Development Bank (ADB) who are currently in Imphal.
The ADB team will visit the road sites and a plan will be made to turn the two projects into world class, said O Nabakishore.
The Chief Secretary also appealed all government employees to maintain transparency and execute duties without delay.
He also assured implementing necessary policies for all the Government employees.
Speaking on the issues of contract employees, O Nabakishore said that though the salaries of the employees were low, they have been contributing like the regular employees.
Senior Vice President of JAC-(AMTUC) (AMGEO) B Ghanashyam Sharma on the occasion informed that employees of the State have not been getting the full benefits of the 6th pay commission.
He also urged the government to provide the full benefits before implementing the 7th pay commission in the State.
The JAC also submitted a report on its demands to the Chief Secretary during the function.
