Imphal, October 09 2015 :
BJP National General Secretary (Coordination/North East) Ram Madhav has called upon the people of Manipur to oust the corrupt Congress Government and support BJP to bring about a progressive Manipur.
Addressing a political conference held on the theme 'Freedom from Congress for a new Manipur' under the aegis of BJP Manipur Pradesh at Thangmeiband Lairenhanjaba Leikai today, Ram Madhav claimed that more and more people across the country have been supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's endeavour to take the country including the North East to a higher trajectory of development.
As for the State of Manipur, it is going in reverse gear as far as development is concerned on account of the incumbent Congress Government.
With full faith in peace and development, BJP has taken up a number of welfare programmes, but the corrupted Congress Government is determined to keep Manipur backward and terrorised.
The Congress Government which is so filthy should be shown the door, Ram Madhav asserted.
Saying that he had met former MLA Kh Joykishan a few months back, Ram Madhav hailed Joykishan as a man dedicated to public welfare.
Even though the Government of India has sanctioned several crores of rupees for development of Manipur, the State's transport infrastructure has improved very little.
The State Government is still unable to provide potable to a large section of the people.
He then appealed to the electorates of Thangmeiband A/C to re-elect Joykishan and strengthen BJP in the State.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba claimed that the two MLAs were disqualified because of undue interference by the State Government in Court matters and Assembly proceedings in total contravention of all the established norms of democracy.
Kh Joykishan said that the Congress party has been canvassing in the name of welfare schemes and development programmes launched by the BJP Government at the Centre.
With Congress party uprooted from most States of India, people of Manipur have also lost their faith in Congress party, Joykishan added.
