NTEWA calls off RIMS stir

The cease work strike called by the Non-Teaching Employees' Welfare Association (NTEWA) RIMS has been called off after the association and RIMS authority arrived at an understanding.
According to a release issued by NTEWA vice-p resident and spokesperson W Ranbir, the association and the RIMS authority have agreed to urge the central authority concerned to give monthly salaries comprising of pay band with grade pay and extra 50 per cent to contract employees of RIMS.
In case the proposed consolidated pay is rejected by the central authority, monthly salaries of RIMS contract employees would be raised from Rs 5250 to Rs 7000 as agreed between the two sides during the meeting held at the office of RIMS Director Prof S Rita.
To put up a proposal for regularization of RIMS contract employees against vacant posts in a meeting of RIMS executive council which would be held shortly at Delhi was another point of agreement.
Reacting to the news report published today under the heading 'RIMS stir starts', NTEWA president S Sanatomba said that he did not give any comment in connection during the protest demonstration staged yesterday in front of the office of RIMS Director.
