Muslim students honoured

Pangal Students Organization (PSO) and Minority Muslims' Private English School Association (MMPESA), Manipur today felicitated UPSC 244th position holder Yumkhaibam Sabir and Mohammad Ismat, all India topper in AISSCE along with other meritorious students at Lilong.
Many distinguished guests including Md Abdul Helim Choudhury, Retired IAS, Chairman Minority Commission, Manipur; Dr NC Talukdar (Scientist F) Director, IBSD, Takyelpat Imphal Department of Biotechnology, Government of India; Dr Dhanabir Laishram, Social Scientist; Md Hayatur Rahman, Chief Advisor of PSO; Yumnam Rupachandra, Chief Editor of News ISTV; Md Khalilur Rahman, Principal of Lilong Haoreibi College; Md Islamuddin Advisor of MIMPESA, etc were present on the occasion.
Rupachandra said that for a Manipuri boy to get first position in CBSE examination can be compared to a disabled person winning the race amongst the physically able competitors.
He also expressed concern over the negligence of Education Department towards bringing quality education in Manipur.
Md Abdul Helim Choudhury reminded the audience that Yumkhaibam Sabir and Md Ismat have set an example that Muslims do not lack behind others when it comes to education.
Revealing the secret mantra of his success, Yumkhaibam Sabir said that it was a combination of hard work, patience and strong determination.
