Imphal West cops strike it rich with 8 UG arrest

Imphal West district police arrested eight UG cadres from different places during the last 24 hours.
According to a statement issued by the SP of Imphal West, one PREPAK cadre identified as Lairenlakpam Bidhu alias Brajabidhu (57), s/o L Biro of Chingarel Tejpur, from Jallal Crossing area, Thangal Bazar yesterday around 5.30pm.One mobile handset and one scooter were recovered from him while two hand grenades were seized according to his pointing.
One PREPAK cadre identified as Laishram Nongdrel alias Sushil alias Ningai (18), s/o L Jiten of Malom Makha Leikai, was arrested from Thoubal Bus Parking today around 5.55am.On a follow-up action, another PREPAK activist identified as Laishram Kulla (43), s/o L Lalhari of Malom Tuliyaima Mayai Leikai was arrested from his residence at around 7.30am.The statement added that three KCP (Lamphel) members including a woman were arrested from North AOC today around 11.20am.The three have been identified as Wahengbam (N) Naorem (O) Rebecca (32), w/o N brojen alias City Meetei of Tentha Khunou, and presently staying at Nambol Khathong; Elangbam Amarjit alias Amu alias Somorjit alias Nungshi (25), s/o (L) E Kondumba of Khangabok Part-III and Aheibam Nungshi (32) s/o A Nongyai of Wangjing Awang Leikai, presently staying at Palace Compound.
A case has been registered against them at Imphal Police Station.
Futher, two active member of KCP were arrested from Paona Bazar today at around 12.45pm.The arrested cadres have been identified as Mayengbam Lukhoi alias Nanao (31) s/o (L) M Kulabidhu of Yengkhumang Litan Makhong and Koijam Ibomcha (23) s/o K Shantikumar of Pukhao Terapur near Dolaithabi.
Two pistols with 8 rounds of live ammunition were recovered while a case has been filed at City PS, the statement added.
Meanwhile, in a drive against the unauthorised vendors of LPG cylinders, the Imphal West District Police seized 30 filled LPG cylinders and 47 empty LPG cylinders from Singjamei areas in response to the directive of DC, Imphal West.
Verification is going on to establish the validity of hoarding the LPG cylinders, the IW police statement said.
