CM assures IDPs in face to face meeting

Imphal, August 01 2026: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met with the representatives of six different groups of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the Chief Minister's Bungalow in Imphal today and assured that the Government is sincerely working towards the resettlement of the displaced folks.

During the meeting, the representatives of the IDPs raised the issue of resettlement and other grievances to the State Government.

The representatives lauded the Chief Minister for taking up the crucial initiative of opening National Highway 2 and resuming the Imphal-Dimapur-Guwa-hati public road transport services, said the statement.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Secretariat, the meeting was attended by the Home Commissioner N Ashok Kumar and Deputy Commissioners of all districts which house the IDPs .

The Chief Minister assured the IDPs that all the issues raised by them will be addressed and the Government is sincerely working for the rehabilitation and the resettlement of the IDPs.

Khemchand informed the IDP representatives that NH-2 has been opened to all communities and that public transport services along the National Highway have resumed smoothly.

He said the resumption of transport services would help address various difficulties faced by the IDPs .
