TPR dips below 1 pc after nine months
COVID claims two more lives, 14 newly infected

The daily test posi-tivity rate (TPR) dropped to below 1 per cent after more than nine months as Tuesday reported 14 new positive cases of Covid -19 out of 1495 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positivity rate of 0.94 per cent.
Tuesday also reported two death cases which took the tally of fatalities to 1992.One of them had received second dose of Covid-19 vaccine and the other was unvaccinated.
They were residents of Imphal East and Kakching district.
Meanwhile, the active caseload stands at 316 out of which 58 (18.35 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only five reported fresh Covid cases on Tuesday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 7.So far, the state has recorded 96,149 positive cases and 1618 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 344 new positive cases and 15 fatalities have been reported during the current month out of which 143 new cases and 7 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 14 new positive cases (8 male & 6 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (10).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (4), Imphal West (7), Bishnupur (1), Thoubal (1) and Noney (1) .
In the last 24 hours, 21 patients were discharged from home isolation (7), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (9) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,549 (general population - 1,21,116 and CAPF personnel - 4,433) .
Number of recovered eases is 1,23,241 (general population -1,18,816 and CAPF personnel - 4,425) and number of active cases is 316 (general population - 313 and CAPF personnel -3) .
The recovery rate is 98.16 per cent.
A total of 279 D-type and 105 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
On the other hand, 6094 vaccine doses were administered on Monday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 13,04,316 which include 9,38,698 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,047), Imphal East (27,881), Thoubal (9485), Churachandpur (10,189), Kangpokpi (2788), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9226), Senapati (2249), Ukhrul (2998), Kakching (6448), Chandel (2361), Noney (1075), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (665), Imphal East (479), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (193), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (115), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,461 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,795 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,63,857 tests per million population against the national average of 4,70,171 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1495 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 0.94 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.72 per cent.
