Imphal, December 14 2021:
Women should make concerted efforts to ensure that there are more women representatives in the State Assembly to strive for a healthy and progressive society.
The above statement was made by AK Mirabai, MLA of Patsoi Assembly Constituency today while attending the 34th foundation day celebration of Ghari Awang Women's Development Centre.
She maintained that during the Congress regime, thirty percent reservations were allocated to women in local bodies for the upliftment of women.
Expressing concern over the low participation of women in decision making bodies owing to less women representatives in the State Assembly, she earnestly appealed to all to elect more women representatives so that women contribute majorly in developmental activities.
Stating that women are the mirrors of the society, AK Mirabai said the role of women is highly important to build a developed and biased free society and urged all to stop discrimination against women.
