JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO calls for well-being of employees, pensioners

Many resolutions aimed for the well-being of State Government employees and pensioners were adopted.
The resolutions were adopted during the general body meeting of the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) convened, said a press release by the Secretary General of the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO.
During the meeting, thorough discussion was done and it was resolved to appeal to the State Government to disburse the pending 14 percent Dearness Allowance (DA)/Dearness Relief (DR) of State Government employees and pensioners starting from January 1, 2023 so as to increase the per capita income.
With the aim to promote the welfare of employees and pensioners, a number of resolutions were adopted which are as follows - to extend the service period of current State employees by two years to provide time to distribute the pending pensionary benefits to these workers and to implement Old Pension System instead of New Pension Scheme for State employees.
To bring an efficient working system and to check corruption, it was resolved to appeal to the State to implement inter-transferrable policy among the Manipur Secretariat employees and the employees of their corresponding departments.
Further it was decided to appeal to the authorities concerned to extend medical reimbursement facilities to pensioners of State as enjoyed by the former MLAs and their families.
The appeal for a meeting of Minimum Wage Board at the earliest to revise a new employee rate for casual, muster-roll and other working class; to provide pension benefits to confirmed work-charge employees of the Engineering Department and to fill the vacancies of posts at various State Departments were also raised in the meeting.
Later, the posts of the JAC were shuffled and some new office bearers were appointed as well.
Sagolsem Sanjit Singh (MID) has been appointed as the Working president; Laishram Ranjoy Singh (Power) as the vice-president; Thokchom Premchand Singh (Art and Culture) as the Secretary Administration while E Milankumar Singh (Medical) has been appointed as the Secretary Organisation, added the release.
