The Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh has urged the Government and authorities concerned to allow trading of all permissible goods between Myanmar and India at the border town.
In a statement today, HTC said the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the political turmoil in Myanmar have harshly affected the economic condition of the people of Moreh and its surrounding areas.
Moreh being a border town, both the Centre and the State Government imposes restrictions from time to time according to situations.
This, however, has crippled the economic activities of the population, whose livelihood mainly depend on the cross border trade, HTC said appealing to the Government authorities to allow trade of all permissible goods between the two countries.
Meanwhile, it appreciated the 5th and 20th Assam Rifles for exercising and allowing considerable relaxations to ease the suffering of the locals.
