Mini adventure tourism complex opened

A mini adventure tourism complex was opened today at Khuman Lampak as a part of the Sangai Festival.
Reportedly, equipment for rafting, surfing, blob jump, water zorbing, and courses for spider net.
ATV bike, commando bridge, power paragliding and other outdoor activities are being installed/arranged at the venue.
The mini adventure tourism complex is being opened by the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports and Manipur Mountaineering & Trekking Association (MMTA) under the sponsorship of the Department of Tourism.
At the opening ceremony, YAS Minister Govindas Konthoujam said that the Sangai Festival is one of the biggest events of Manipur.
Saying that the festival is being held on the theme 'Festival of Oneness' under the supervision of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Govindas continued that the central idea of holding the festival is to uphold the cultural ties between the ethnic communities of Manipur and promote unity.
Saying that Manipur, despite being a small State in the North Eastern region of India, is known for its prowess in sports and unique art and culture, the Minister maintained that Manipuris are stout-hearted and adventurous loving people whose valour were displayed in different events of "our history" .
"Seeing the potential of the State, the National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports which is under the Ministry of Defence has given an opportunity for the MMTA to work with them," he added.
The Minister also expressed hope that many people will visit the mini adventure tourism complex and enjoy outdoor activities.
YAS Director T Phulen Meitei and MMTA president Dr L Surjit also attended the programme.
