Second tranche of Rozgar Mela held

Under the Rozgar Mela, a total of 227 appointment letters were distributed in the state by Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Dr RK Ranjan Singh in an event organised at Haflong Hall of Assam Rifles Mantripukhri Garrison, here.
Addressing the gathering, RK Ranjan said that the government gives highest priority in extending opportunity to youth in the development of the nation.
Out of the 227 appointments 171 are new recruits of Assam Rifles, 28 for Border Security Forces, 15 for SSB, 6 doctors for RIMS, 3 CISF, 2 ITBP and 2 for banks.
IGAR (S) Maj Gen Rajan Sharawat, who also attended the event, said that this initiative of the government will inspire the youth, show them the right path and not get strayed.
BSF DIG DS Rawat and RIMS deputy director Naorem Indrakumar were also present on the occasion.
It may be mentioned that the Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the Prime Minis -ter's commitment to accord the highest priority to employment generation.
The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in furthering employment generation and providing meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment as well as direct participation in national development.
Earlier in October, 75,000 appointment letters were handed over to newly inducted appointees under Rozgar Mela.
The physical copies of the appointment letters to the new appointees were handed over at 45 locations across the country (except Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh).
In addition to the categories of posts filled earlier, posts of teachers, lecturers, nurses, nursing officers, doctors, pharmacists, radiographers and other technical and paramedical posts are also being filled.
A significant number of posts are being filled in by the Ministry of Home Affairs in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
Meanwhile, PRO IGAR (S) in a release informed that during the Rozgar Mela Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed and congratulated all selected candidates through video conferencing.
PM Modi exhorted the successful candidates to work towards nation building and development.
The PRO further said that appointment letters to 71,000 successful candidates were handed over during the event across the country at 45 locations.
