World Diabetes Day observed

District Health Society Kakching organised World Diabetes Day Observation 2022 at CMO Office Complex, Kakching today under the theme "Education to protect".
Dignitaries present at the event include Mayanglambam Rameshwar, MLA, Kakching Constituency as the chief guest; Dr Th Rajen, CMO Kakching as the functional president and Dr Y Nando, MO, CHC Kakching as the guest of honour.
As a part of the celebration, four senior citizens receiving treatment for diabetes at CHC Kakching were given free diabetes medication.
Aside from this, facilities for free diabetes testing were also provided.
Speaking as the chief guest, MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar shared that the State Cabinet has resolved to upgrade Kakching CHC to the level of a district hospital.
In this regard, a proposal for a Rs 65 crore project was sent to the relevant Ministry and in their reply the State officials were directed to compile a DPR (detailed project report) including additional plans of the National Health Mission with the assurance of sanctioning said project, he claimed.
Highlighting the major drawbacks of the health sector, he stressed on the lack of manpower and health sector officials not carrying out their responsibilities dutifully.
As such, he underscored the importance of the health sector in people's lives and called upon the concerned individuals to carry out their duties sincerely.
Further, in his role as a lawmaker, he assured to meet the inadequacies prevalent in the health sector.
