Student bodies deplore inadequacies in Govt schools

Student bodies found schools filled with inadequacies including shortage of teachers and infrastructures while conducting inspection and have demanded the government to look into the matter at the earliest.
In a release, Pangal Students' Organisation, Manipur (PSO) publicity secretary Pukhrimayum Sharif said that they were stunned to find only three teachers teaching at Lilong Haoreibi Leirabakhong Primary Madrassa School (Class I to V) Which has 75 students.
The school has only two classrooms and one of them cannot be used for teaching and there is no staff room for the teachers, he informed, while urging the government to conduct survey of the schools instead of simply working only on the table so that the inadequacies could be addressed to bring quality education.
Meanwhile, Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) publicity secretary Sanasam Preety informed that they inspected Sawombung Primary School and Kharasom Primary School and found inadequacies in both the schools.
There is shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff, furniture, etc., at Sawombung Primary School.
Students and teachers have been facing tremendous inconveniences due to lack of proper fencing, she con tended.
Kharasom Primary School also faces similar inadequacies like lack of both teach -ing and non-teaching staff, toilets and proper fencing.
In view of the inadequacies in the government schools, Preety urged the government to look into the matter at the earliest.
