Anti-Microbial Awareness Week

Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh has said that taking antibiotics or any medicinal pill without the prescription of a medical doctor may cause harm and have negative health consequences.
He was speaking as chief guest at a World Anti-Microbial Awareness Week observation held at JNIMS Hospital Lecturer Hall today.
Dr S Ranjan said observing the day will help create awareness amongst the public on health.
He said that many people usually or on occasions prefer self-medication which is not recommendable.
People should consult a doctor for any health problem in order to avoid difficulties and possible complications later.
The State needs a database system for medical professionals and stakeholders.
The Health Department is working in this regard, he said.
He also urged doctors, nurses and clinical staff to perform their duties with dedication and also propagate awareness among the people on health issues.
Director Health Services Manipur Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, Director NHM, Manipur Dr Somorjit Ningombam, Director Veterinary Dr Ng Ibotombi Singh, Director JNIMS graced the occasion as presidium members.
The occasion was jointly organized by the Health Services Manipur and National Health Mission Manipur.
