An open discussion between representatives of Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) and guardians of Catholic school students was held today at Keishampat where the gathering demanded immediate removal of the prohibitions imposed on Catholic Schools of Manipur.
The discussion resolved to work together and stand firm and work for the welfare of students.
DESAM president M Angamba stated that various local clubs, CSOs and Meira Paibis located in and around the schools should help DESAM in re-opening the schools.
He added that till today the State Govt.has been silent which is very unfortunate.
Later he said that the school authorities, both teaching and non-teaching staff, should resume their work and re-open the schools.
The gathering also urged school van service operators to protest such bans imposed on Catholic schools.
They maintained that school authorities should not charge fees for the month of April.
Angamba also urged the underground outfit which has been imposing the ban to place their demands to the public.
