UTA lift Governor's Taekwondo Cup for the 11th time

Imphal, April 19 2015 :
Union Taekwondo Academy (UTA), Yumnam Leikai was crowned the champion of 11th Governor's Taekwondo Cup at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak under the aegis of All Manipur Taekwondo Association (AMTA) on Sunday.
The win also marks UTA's 11th straight win over the prestigious cup from its inception.
In the four-day span competition, altogether 341 Black Belt holders (180 girls and 161 boys) under the AMTA from 13 Taekwondo units vie for the honours in different weight categories.
11 gold medals were decided on the last day of the competition.

In cadet boys section, M Langamba (SAI) won the U-57 title by defeating H Nganthioiba (UTA) in the final.
S Shilbeiba (CTI-S) and M Biraj (UTA) ended with bronze.
Sh Bislan Singh (HTA) pockets gold by upsetting A Deepak (IMRTA) in over 65 kg category.
T Sandhya Devi (CTI-S) won the cadet girls over 59 kg title.
A Kensing (HTA) won gold in the Sub junior U-35 kg boy's event by defeating E Moshori Philips (NSA).
L Babulu (Nambol) and Muhamud Haship (Sora) were the bronze medal winners while Sub junior girls U-35 kg was won by Sh Ghanapriya (CTI-S) by overcoming S Babina (UTA).
S Priya (IMRTA) and Th Pushparani (HTA) settle for bronze.
Junior girls over 68 kg was concurred by Rk Kiran (CTI-S).
The U-63 kg final bout was won by A Premkumar (Nambol) against Kh Paree (UTA).
In senior men's section, the U-54kg was won by L Birjit (SAI) by defeating Frank (UTA) while K Keshorjit (SAI) ended with bronze while Y Bangkim Meitei (UTA) defeated M Russia (Naoriya) for the over 87 kg gold.
H Manichandra (CTI-S) fends off the challenge of Md Aziz Khan for the U-74 kg gold.
The senior women's U-53 kg title was bagged by O Memi Chanu (SAI) after defeating N Ronibala (Nambol).
K Nanaocha Devi (UTA) and Hathoikim Chungloi (UTA) ended with bronze medal.
