NPF to contest ADC polls in a big way

The Naga People's Front (NPF) has decided to contest in the maximum number of seats in the upcoming Autonomous District Council election in Manipur under the 'Cock' symbol.
The ADC election is scheduled for June 1 in six councils of five hill districts of Manipur.
NPF secretary general KG Kenye confirming the party decision, said that even as an internal problem persists in the State of Nagaland, which is the headquarters of NPF party, there is no problem for NPF in Manipur State.
KG Kenye added that the problem here will have no impact in Manipur as ADC elections have nothing to do with leadership issue in Nagaland.
State and divisional units are fully gearing up to contest the Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections in a big way, he added.
He said that NPF is keeping the doors open for coalition with other political parties in the State for ADC elections.
However, he said NPF is contemplating to contest maximum number seats except in case arrangements need to be made in those seats where coalition partners are also contesting.
Earlier, NPF resolved to participate in the forthcoming Manipur ADC elections with tribal rights as the primary agenda.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the NPF, Senapati district in collaboration with 48 A/C Mao and 49 A/C Tadubi is organising a one day political awareness programme at Tadubi town hall on April 28 at 11 am.
MLAs from Manipur and NPF executives of Manipur sector and other dignitaries will speak at the programme.
All the NPF workers, well wishers, supporters and village leaders have been invited to attend the programme.
