Daily TPR below 5 pc for second day

The daily test positivity rate continues to be below the 5 percent mark for the second day on the trot as 73 people tested positive for the virus out of a total of 1552 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate stands at 4.7 percent in the last 24 hours.
Despite the low count and the below 5 percent daily test positivity rate, Covid induced deaths continue with the State reporting one more casualty in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of deaths to 2101 .
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that Manipur reported one Covid related death in the last 24 hours.
The deceased person is from Imphal East, said the statement and added that the deceased had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated.
In the last 24 hours 73 persons including one Central security personnel tested positive for the virus to take the cumulative figure of infected to 1,36,506 including 5002 Central security personnel.
The 73 people who returned positive results were detected during testing at RIMS (11), JNIMS (10) and other testing centres (52) .
The 72 civilians who tested positive are from Imphal East (24), Imphal West (25), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (7), Kangpokpi (1), Ukhrul (6) and Chandel (1) .
The number of active cases is now 649 inclusive of 21 Central security personnel.
On the other hand 82 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (64), RIMS (2), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (8) to take the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,33,506 including 4794 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is 97.99 percent.
On February 20, 1577 dosage were administered taking the total to 26,69,123 including 11,14,300 second dose and 55,659 precautionary dose.
Till February 20, 47.6 percent of the total eligible population had received their second dose and 60.65 their first dose.
On February 20, 242 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 86 B Type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
