Manipur College observes International Mother Language Day

Imphal, February 21 2023: International Mother Language Day was observed at Manipur College today organised by the Manipuri Department of the college.

The programme was graced by Associate Professor Dr N Subhasini, Head of Manipuri Department, Manipur College; Assistant Professors Dr Kh Sobita and Dr P Nalini Chanu as the presidium members.

Students and faculties of Manipuri Department also took part in the programme.

During the programme, Assistant Professor Dr Moirangthem Sunitibala spoke on the topic 'The role of mother language speakers' while Assistant Professor Dr Naorem Ahanjao Meitei spoke on 'The importance of observing Mother Language Day' .

As a part of the observation, 20 students read out poems written in native language.
