MNCA Elite Tournament : CHAMP cruise to third straight win as TRAU end Model Club's winning streak

CHAMP-Khagempalli overwhelmed MPSC-Manipur Central Jail by 177 runs for the third win on trot as TRAU-Kwakeithel ended Model Club's two game winning streak in the 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament.
Opting to bat first here at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, CHAMP posted a decent total of 270 runs for 7 wickets as Md Sultan Karim hit an unbeaten ton and Nitesh Sedai hit a half century and bowled out MPSC for a paltry total of 93 runs in 34.3 overs for the huge win.
CHAMP had a stuttering start and went down to 48 for 5 within 13.4 overs as Indraban S Koijam claimed the first two wickets, Sarangthem Shangker clinching the third wicket and Keisham Kennedy removing fourth and fifth wickets.

Nitesh Sedai and Md Sultan Karim joined forces to punish the MPSC bowlers and collect 157 runs for the 6th wicket before Nitesh Sedai holed out to Taorem Jeem off Keisham Kennedy for 86 runs (off 71 balls, 9 fours and 3 sixes) in the 34th over.
Md Sultan Karim however clung on to complete a masterful knock of 75-ball 115 by clobbering 13 fours and 4 maximums to steer his team to 270 runs.
Keisham Kennedy returned with the best figures of 4 for 32 in this innings.
MPSC however had a forgetball chase as only three of the batters managed to post insignificant double digit runs- S Shangker (18), K Kennedy (10) and Ngangom Sudesh (20), before succumbing at 93 runs.
Najarul Islam was pick of the CHAMP bowlers claiming three wickets for 26 runs in his spell of 8 overs while Thingbaijam Nicholson and Nitesh Sedai shared two wickets apiece.
Md Ahsanul Kabir and Md Sultan Karim also fetched a wicket each to help trigger the MPSC collapse.
Eventually, Md Sultan Karim of CHAMP who hit a ton and picked a wicket was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Part 3 Public Ground, TRAU crushed Model Club by 9 wickets to post their second win and end the latter team's two game winning run.
Model Club won the toss and opted to bat first.
Their batting line up however faltered and were bundled out for a paltry 82 runs total in 24.3 overs by TRAU who needed just 15.2 overs to seal the victory.
Langlonyamba with 17 runs was the highest run getter for Model Club followed by Veteshor Sharma (15) and Bijenkumar (13) as Anand Naorem flourished with a four wicket haul just offering 11 runs in his spell of 3.3 overs while Senate Singh Mayengbam clinched 3 wickets for 10 runs in 6 overs.
Priyojit Kangabam also added teeth to the TRAU's bowling attack by snatching two wickets as Dr Siddarth Shah grabbed one.
In reply, TRAU lost Rahul Rajkumar to Somorjit Salam at 30 runs in 5.2 overs before Karnajit Yumnam (28*off 41 balls) and Priyojit Kangabam (38* off 35 balls) lifted the team to a winning 83 in 15.2 overs.
Priyojit Kangabam who grabbed two wickets and struck unbeaten 38 claimed the man of the match accolade.
