Session Judge Imphal East has sentenced a 41-year-old woman to 4 months in prison in a case related to the death of her husband.
The sentence was announced today after the woman, Asem ongbi Sushila pleaded guilty to the charge framed against her under Section 304 Part II IPC for culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the death of her husband, Late Herojit of Haotal Thangjam Khunou.
It may be mentioned that Asem Herojit was found lying in a pool of blood in his bed by a neighbour on January 13, 2014 night at around 9 a few minutes after a heated argument with his wife, Sushila.
Sushila was arrested by the police on the same night for allegedly stabbing her husband to death.
The Court, on perusal of the materials on record observed that Sushila, being a middle aged woman has the burden of bringing up two sons.
Further, considering the circumstances under which the incident happened, the Court sentenced her to undergo 4 months simple imprisonment.
