Transporters appeal

The All Manipur Road Transport Drivers'and Motor Workers'Union has appealed toall concernedto take necessary actions in order to rescue the three transporters reportedly abducted by Karbi Peoples Liberation Tiger from Karbi Anglong area of Assam on January 16. According to a memorandum submitted to the authority , the abducted individuals have been identified as Longjam Arun Singh, Thokchom Jiten Singh and Nanao alias Suresh Singh.
Subsequent upon the attack on the gas bullet tanker followed by the abduction of the two drivers and one helper, many trucks are now stranded on NH 39 unable to cross Karbi Anglong area for fear of their lives and property.
The union further appealed to the Government of Manipur to take immediate actions for the safe release of the abducted transporters and also to take up appropriate actions for the safety of the harassed drivers on NH 39.
