Many condole MK, term her demise great loss

Describing her death as a irreparable loss to the Manipuri society, many mourned for eminent writer and cultural activist Padmashree Maharaj Kumari Binodini Devi, who passed away yesterday.
Condoling the death of Binodini, Manipuri Sahitya Parishad said that demise of Binodini is an irreparable loss.
The Parishad also organised a condolence meeting at its Paona Bazar office today with its president prof N Tombi Singh in the chair.
The congregation observed two minutes silence as mark of respect to the departed soul and prayed for peaceful repose of the departed soul in its heavenly abode.
Members of Manipuri Language Advisory Committee, Sahitya Akademi condoled the death of Binodini during a condolence meeting held at the office of Cultural Forum Manipur today with Advisory Committee convenor Prof N Khagendra in the chair.
The meeting prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace and be with its creator.
Recalling the contribution made by Binodini in the field of Manipuri film industries, Film Forum Manipur also organised a condolence meeting with its chairman Laimayum Surjakanta in the chair at its office today.
The meeting prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed condolence to the bereaved family members.
Members of Manipur University community, in a condolence meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof C Amuba Singh today have also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Binodini and prayed to the Almighty to give strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
The members stood for two minutes in silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul and resolved to send the condolence message to the bereaved family.
Condoling the demise of Binodini, Nepali Sahitya Parishad, Manipur has described her demise as a great loss to the Manipuri literature.
In a statement, general secretary of Nepali Sahitya Parishad, Manipur Bhawani Adhikari acknowledged that Binodini was a sympathiser of Nepali Sahitya Parishad and participated as chief guest in Bhasha Diwas (Language Day) on August 20, 2006. Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, of which Binodini was serving as secretary from October 1, 1968 to September 1, 1980, has also condoled her demise.
Apart from organising a condolence meeting today, the Academy declared half holiday today to mourn the death.
Naharol Sahitya Premee Samiti, Nongchup Haram Khorjei Lup, Iramdam Meeyamgi Apunba Khorjei Lup, Indian People�s Theatre Association (Manipur State Council), Macha Leima, MPP Youth Front, etc have also condoled the death of Binodini.
