JAC, student bodies to begin stir

Imphal, January 18, 2011:
Demanding the state government to arrest the accused person for killing Dr N Kunjabihari, Chairman Board of Secondary Education Manipur, on or before January 21, JAC against the killing along with AMSU, DESAM, MSF and various social organizations will begin stir from January 22 by attaching black badge during classes and organizing sit in protest.
In a press meet held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, spokesman of the JAC, W Gunindro said that JAC had demanded to the state government to investigate the matter and arrest the accused.
JAC had also demanded to take video coverage during the post mortem and provide appropriate ex-gratia to his family members.
Gunindro said that the state government is not making any progress in the investigation of the killing.
JAC in association with AMSU, DESAM, MSF and other social organizations will begin agitations against the state government if they failed to arrest the culprit on or before January 21. AMSU HRD Secretary, Dipajit Ningthoujam alleged that the state government is keeping its mouth shut even though Chairman of BSEM was shot dead inside his office chamber during his duty.
It is an act of an irresponsible government not to give any comment about the incident.
DESAM Assistant secretary general, A Thoithoi said that it is unfortunate for the people of the state that Chairman of the BSEM was killed inside his office chamber and no one has own up the killing.
State government should investigate the matter using all their sources.
Terming the incident as unfortunate one in the history of the state, MSF Joint secretary, Lucky said that they will launched various types of agitation until the state government arrested the accused person.
