2 week long excursion in New Delhi flagged off

Imphal, January 18, 2011:
The 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) organised a educational tour to New Delhi for children and teachers from Orphanage at Nungdam Tangkhul area.
During their two week long excursion they are scheduled to visit parks, zoo, historical monuments, Military and Political dignitaries in Delhi.
NGO's houses based in Delhi and prominent companies working in the state viz Ansals and KABUR working at Thoubal Multipurpose project, Maphau and Phumdri have come ahead in associating in this noble cause.
The excursion tour was flagged off by, Commander, 10 Sector from Shanshak today.
Speaking on the occasion which was attended by large number of civilians and other dignitaries, the commander exhorted the participating children to learn and enjoy themselves during their tour.
He also assured the general public that more such educational programmes would be undertaken for the children in the area, which will broaden their horizon and enlighten them, a statement of the IGAR(S) said.
