Houses gutted in Senapati district headquarters

Properties worth lakhs of rupee have been reportedly loss in a devastating fire that gutted at least ten houses in Senapati district headquarters last night.
According to information received by the press, the fire broke out at around 11.40 pm yesterday.
Atleast 10 houses belonging to two owners and all the properties inside them have been destroyed in the fire.
Some of the gutted houses were also being used as shops.
On receiving the news of the fire, Army, Assam Rifles, Fire Service and local residents rushed in and extended co-operation in preventing the fire from spreading to neighbouring places.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
On the other hand, a mother and her 3-year old daughter sustained burnt injuries when fire broke out in their house at Kachikhul under Imphal West district at around 7.50 pm yesterday.
The house have been gutted in the fire and the injured mother identified as Huirem Inaocha (44) and her daughter Dolicha have been admitted to RIMS.
The devastating fire is suspected to have been ignited from a burning candle.
Local residents managed to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading.
