Imphal, July 07 2023: Kuki militants fired several rounds of bullets and lethod shells toward security personnel deployed at Koutruk.

Imphal West this afternoon.

The incident took place at around 3.10 pm when well armed Kuki militants opened fire from the nearby village located in the surrounding hills toward Koutruk village where IRB personnel were stationed.

The security personnel retaliated and a gunfight ensued for around 10 minutes before the Kuki militants fled from the spot.

There is no report of any injury on the side of the security personnel.

Additional teams of police rushed to the spot soon after the Kuki militants started attacking the security personnel, sources informed.
