Kuldiep Singh, Security Advisor to the Government of Manipur and Dr Vineet Joshi, Chief Secretary met Governor Anusuiya Uikey and apprised her of the latest law and order situation in the State.
The Governor discussed several issues with them to explore ways and means to bring an amicable peaceful solution through dialogues involving all stakeholders concerned, said PRO Raj Bhavan in a statement.
During the meeting, the Governor advised the Chief Secretary and the Security Advisor on several issues including instruction to hold the elections of the Autonomous District Councils.
She advised them to convene weekly meeting of the Monitoring Committee to get feedback of action taken and problems faced; ensure agricultural activities by providing adequate security; approach the Medical Council of India to accommodate the displaced medical students as per the availability of seats in other medical colleges; supply adequate medicines coupled with equipment of entertainments in all the relief camps to keep the inmates physically and mentally fit.
She advised them to ensure that each displaced person is provided an assistance of Rs 1000.As Rs 500 per head has already been sanctioned, she advised them to release the remaining amount.
Governor Anusuiya Uikey also advised them to supply adequate daily essential commodities to the displaced people.
If required, traders may be directed to sell items at the respective relief camps, she said.
Advising the Chief Secretary and the Security Advisor to take up appropriate measures for resettlement of the displaced people, she directed them to expedite construction of temporary houses for the displaced folks.
She further advised them to release compensation for the victims.
The Governor advised them to hold the elections of the Autonomous District Councils; use drones for monitoring the situation and review the order of "No work, No Pay" .
Future meetings of all political parties, all civil society organizations; security forces etc be held in Raj Bhavan, she said.
On the other hand, representatives of Uripok Apunba Lup met the Governor and submitted a memorandum.
During the meeting, the Lup and the Governor discussed various issues to bring peace and tranquillity in the State through dialogues so that all the displaced people who have been taking shelter in different relief camps of both hills and valley districts can resettle at their respective places.
The Governor assured them to look into their appeals and urged all stakeholders concerned to explore all possible ways to end violence.
