All join hands to pray for peace

An all faith prayer was held today at Palace Compound for peace and normalcy to return to strife-torn Manipur.
The programme organised by Rajarshi Bhagya- chandra Foundation, Mani-pur was participated by leaders of different faiths including Manipur Gita Mandal, Imphal; Brahma Sabha Shree Shree Govinda-jee Temple Board; Manipur Pandit Loishang Sabha Shree Shree Govindajee Temple Board; Digambar Jain Imphal; Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Imphal; Manipur Baptist Church Imphal; Archdiocese of Imphal; Gita Pariwar Imphal; Divine Life Society Manipur and All Manipur Jamiatul Ulama; Anjuman, Manipur.
The prayer session began by offering flowers to the Creator and observed two minute silence for all the people killed in the ethnic conflict to rest in peace.
Speaking to the media, spokesperson of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Foundation, Manipur Takhellambam Irabat said that Manipur is a diverse State which is home to people of different backgrounds.
Saying that Kuki militants driving a wedge to disintegrate the State and exterminate the Meiteis is unfortunate, Irabat said that many innocent people have been killed while thousand others have been victimised by the series of violence taking place in Manipur.
The all faith prayer was organised with the sole objective of spreading the message of peace and restore normalcy in the State, he added.
