Imphal, July 01 2023:
While lamenting about imminent adverse impact on students and the education system due to unwanted incidents occurring in the state, Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) has denounced the extension of school holiday by government instead of taking up proper initiative to resume classes.
In a release, FESOK enquired the initiatives taken up by authorities concerned including education minister, Directorate of Education (S) and (U) to facilitate the students attend class in a free environment.
Even though Directorate of Education (S) issued order extending school holiday till July 8, the organisation urged not to extend the holiday any further and instead make arrangements so that students can attend school.
It also pointed out that stationing of central forces in schools and colleges will create problems to students appearing for the last semester BA examination to be conducted by Manipur University from July 13, FESOK exhorted authorities to remove central forces from the educational institutions and arrange for their stay in other locations.
