Speaking to media persons, president of Government School Students' Committee, Thoubal Narengbam Changkhonba Meitei who is a Class XI Science student of Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School said that the ongoing violence in Manipur has affected the lives of students especially those studying at Government schools greatly as they are not from well-off families.

Further stating that schools have been shut for nearly two months now, he said that they decided to form the Committee to request the Government to resume classes.
