Many continue to extend humanitarian aid

Many continue to extend relief items to the people who have been displaced by the recent conflict in the State.
The Cultural Forum, Manipur today distributed relief items to four shelter camps opened at Naorem Birahari College Khundrakpam, Phayeng High School, Kamakhya Pemton College, and Mekola Gulap Higher Secondary School.
During the visits, Loushigam Neponath, medical volunteer of Progressive Youth Organisation, highlighted the shortage of water at the shelter camp set up in Naorem Birahari College.
He shared that about 4000 litres of water is required daily for the inmates staying at the shelter camp.
He continued that the inmates of the shelter camp are facing difficulties due to the shortage of water and price hike of essential commodities.

He also mentioned that about 282 displaced persons from Ekou and Dolaithabi are currently taking refuge at the camp.
Besides, Regional Indigenous Forum for Peaceful Co-existence (RIFPCO), Manipur has informed that the Forum has provided relief items to various shelter camps set up across the State with the contributions & donations from various groups/ organisations from Assam.
RIFPCO has so far received a total amount of Rs 7,45,000 from various donors including Manipuris of Brahmaputra Valley (Rs 35,000); Barak Museum & Library, Bantarapur (Rs 10,500); and Meetei Pukei Lup and Athouba Ningsing Lup, Cachar (Rs 7,00,000) .
United Literary Educational Social and Cultural Organization (ULESCO), Manipur, also distributed relief items to the volunteers currently staying at Senjam Chirang and Phayeng.
The relief items were purchased with the donation made by We The Meitei, based in Hojai, Assam.
Meanwhile, Raj Medicity, a leading hospital in Manipur, has received a donation of Rs 15,000 from Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Assam (MSPA), Hojai District Committee, Assam.
While receiving the donation, Haobijam Rajen Singh, chairman & managing director, Raj Medicity, acknowledged the efforts made by the donor and thanked MSPA for their generosity, said a release issued by Raj Medicity.
He shared that the donation will play a vital role in the efforts of Raj Medicity to provide free & effective treatment to all those who have been affected by the ongoing violence.
