Two pulled up for allegedly opening fire

Two persons who were allegedly involved in opening indiscriminate fire and thus injuring five persons including a woman on October 14 night at Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai have been arrested by police.
MLA of Keishamthong AC, Nishikant Sapam had demanded the arrest of all those involved in the firing.
The firing took place when unknown armed miscreants wearing mask tried to forcefully abduct one Bobo Khaidem of Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai on October 14 night at around 10.40 pm.
The abduction bid sparked a heated argument between the armed miscreants and Meira Paibis and local people of Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai.
The armed miscreants left the scene only after firing several rounds of bullets which injured five individuals on the spot including a woman.
The JAC formed in connection with the incident demanded the State Government to arrest the culprits by this afternoon.
Meanwhile, two persons allegedly involved in the firing incident were arrested by police at around 9 pm yesterday from their respective residences.
They have been identified as Ningom-bam Alex s/o Ajit Kumar and Gurumayum Rayban s/o (L) Robindro, both from Bamon Leikai, Brahmapur Laljilakpa Leikai.
Both of them were produced before the Duty Magistrate Imphal West by a team of Imphal police station along with a prayer for 10 days police custody remand for thorough investigation of the case and identification of other culprits.
The Court, on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO, remanded both of them in police custody for 10 days till October 26 .
