Village volunteers complete training, take oath

Physical fitness and.endurance training programme for 4th batch male and 1st batch female Village Protection Force (VPF) have been completed with the oath taking ceremony held on Monday at Sinam village in Imphal East district.
Social welfare minister H Dingo took part in the oath taking ceremony as chief guest while VPF convener H Somorendra Singh was president.
Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha and Patsoi MLA S Kunjakeshore were guests of honour of the ceremony.
In his address, H Dingo said Manipur is passing through a difficult time since May 3 but the attack by Chin-Kuki Narco-Terrorist gave a big opportunity for the people to unify and fight challenges unitedly.
He said that the role played by VPF at the time of war is very important and people should support and encourage those in VPF.
While urging people to understand who they are fighting in the present war, minister Dingo said it is untimely and unreasonable to topple popular government at the time of war and rather people should encourage government to work with more courage.
Speaking at the event, MLA Kh Ibomcha pointed out that national and foreign media thought that Chin-Kuki Narco-Terrorist were right in the initial phase of the ongoing war started on May 3.However, Union home minister Amit Shah had clearly stated in Parliament that Kuki militants started the war with the help of militants from Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Union external affairs minister S Jaishankar had also stated that the war started with the help of foreign militants, Ibomcha said.
