CLP team urges MP Gaurav to air Manipur issue

A team of Manipur Congress Legislature Party (CLP) met Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi in Delhi on Sunday and urged him to take up the violence raging in Manipur for over three months including the brutal murder of three people on Saturday by armed Kuki militants.
The team consisted of CLP leader MLA Okram Ibobi, deputy CLP leader MLA K Ranjit, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president K Meghachandra and treasurer MLA Th Lokeshwar.
Ahead of the discussion on Manipur violence in the parliament on August 8, the CLP team left for Delhi on Sunday and met Congress MPs to apprise them of the cause and present status of the prevailing violence in the state.
The team also informed the leaders of the inability of the central and state governments in curbing the violence which has been raging on for over three months, along with other related matters in writing.
